Rescue Me ID: 16-06-10-00440Hazel (female)

Yorkie    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed

Hazel is fascinated with the outside. In the summer she chased fire flies, in the fall she was mesmerized by falling leaves. This spunky little one loves to trot around the house. Sometimes you can find her entertaining herself by chasing her tail and playing around the floor. Hazel always keeps track of her person. Her favorite spot is curled up in her dog bed in the living room. Plus, she enjoys sleeping in the 'big' bed with everyone else. Her foster mom fondly calls Hazel her crippled old lady. She's a sweet thing and very curious. You'd never know this 7-pound girl is 10 years old with bad knees (luxating patella and bad curvature of ... (Read More)the tibia bones) and elbows (dysplasia), except for her limp. Hazel is so used to the issues she will live her life without surgery which would be just too much for her age. She stays happy with an aspirin a day to help the arthritic pain/discomfort coupled with a glucosamine supplement. Since Hazel came from a private breeder, she is not potty trained but continues to work on it. She does well in a kennel, for short periods. Because of her diminutive size, Hazel will need a home with no children under the age of 9. Hazel will do best in a home with a resident dog to help her along. The suggested adoption donation for Hazel is a minimum of $150 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog.
